DOD and Security Buyers' Guide

Defense comes in different forms. As in years past, this special supplement to Federal Computer Week serves as a guide to the information technology-specific contracts available to Defense Department agencies. This year, though, we have added governmentwide contracts that offer products and services for protecting DOD networks.

As part of this new focus, the Buyers' Guide provides a snapshot of seven hot security technologies, explaining the problems and the emerging solutions, and assessing when those solutions could be ready for use. Some technologies are already available on contracts, and others are still on their way. Look for more coverage in future editions of FCW.

The contract chart, of course, is the heart of this supplement. It is designed for easy reference, giving a quick view of which categories of products and services are available through which contracts. After the chart, you will find a list of Web sites and points of contact for each contract, where you can get more information. As always, the Buyers' Guide lists only those contractors who replied to requests for information.

We hope you find this Buyers' Guide useful. In the coming months, look for similar guides to governmentwide acquisition contracts and the General Services Administration's Federal Supply Schedule.
