GSA announces list of Networx agency telecom awards
Seven fell under Networx Enterprise and 79 under Networx Universal
Since March, nearly 90 federal agencies have picked a telecommunications provider under the General Services Administration’s Networx contract.
GSA released a list of 86 fair-opportunity decisions — seven under Networx Enterprise and 79 under Networx Universal — made by agencies and subagencies, predominantly from the State, Commerce and Labor departments.
Unlike the first such list, which GSA released in March, no values were assigned to the awards. “The agencies don’t provide those values to GSA,” said Robert Lesino, a GSA spokesman.
Award values in the first list were based on data GSA had collected during conversations with representatives from the largest 22 agencies or on other information the agencies must provide to GSA when they make fair-opportunity decisions, said Richard Williams, GSA’s Networx transition manager.
But for many of those decisions, agencies provided no value, said Karl Krumbholz, GSA’s deputy assistant commissioner of network services. In those instances, values were based on GSA billing records of what the agency spent each year on the same or similar services under FTS 2001. Until agencies have placed orders, any values assigned to the contracts are estimates, he added.
