Gordon confirmed as OFPP chief

Gordon will be one of the key players in Obama’s plan to reform government contracting

Daniel Gordon is the first administrator of federal procurement policy in the Obama administration.

The Senate confirmed Gordon late Nov. 21.

Gordon's nomination moved quickly through the Senate. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, reported to the Senate Nov. 19 that the committee approved of President Barack Obama’s pick for administrator of the Office of Federal Procurement Policy in the Office of Management and Budget. Two days later, the Senate approved the nomination. The confirmation comes less than two weeks after Gordon testified before Lieberman’s committee.

Gordon is one of the key players in Obama’s plan to reform the federal government’s contracting system.

The OFPP administrator job has been empty since September 2008.
