Federal 100: Kay Kapoor

Kay Kapoor
Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Lockheed Martin Information Systems and Global Services

Kapoor assumed responsibility for the company’s civilian agency work last year, overseeing more than 800 programs and 13,000 employees. The job entails ironing out potential program schedule and performance issues and making sure the company projects meet customer expectations.

In the homeland security sector, Kapoor played an important role in keeping the Transportation Worker Identification Credential program on schedule as it was implemented nationwide. She also had an impact on Federal Aviation Administration and Social Security Administration projects. Beyond Lockheed Martin, Kapoor is active in a number of associations, including the American Council for Technology/Industry Advisory Council, Association for Federal Information Resources Management, Government IT Executive Council, Society of Women Engineers and Women in Technology.

“Kay proactively seeks to build and foster relationships with government and industry executives for the benefit of the broader government IT community,” said Venkatapathi Puvvada, vice president and managing partner at Unisys Federal Systems.
