Michael Anastasio has been a key player in the effort to demystify cloud computing and make the necessary tools readily available to agency leaders.
He led the effort to create the Infrastructure as a Service contract, a multiple-award blanket purchase agreement that offers Web hosting services and storage as commodities. It also saves agencies the time and expense of conducting their own authorization and accreditation of vendors. But the unusual approach meant that participants on both sides had many questions. Anastasio handled the award process adroitly and continues to manage the contract with the same skill and efficiency.
He is making sure GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service stays true to its mission of providing the highest quality and best value to agency customers while keeping up with technological advances.
