Peace Corps introduces expanded telework options

The Peace Corps, which is an independent agency within the executive branch of the U.S.government, is ramping up the telework opportunities for its workers by adding new policies for remote work in its new office remodel, reports Nextgov.

While in the past the Peace Corps has let field-based recruiters telework, it is now focusing on expanding the option for employees located at the agency’s Washington, D.C. headquarters, the article states.

A law that requires Peace Corps workers to be assigned to appointments no longer than five years has challenged it from implementing telework sooner because it is difficult for the agency to gain traction on long-term issues, according to the article.
