CIO slams State Department for 'cronyism and nepotism,' steps down

Kirit Amin, chief information officer for the State Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs, is leaving his role temporarily, citing grievances with upper management and employees’ resistance to change as reasons for his decision, Federal News Radio reported.

Amin, who also serves as director for the Office of Consular Systems and Technology at State, said he will take a 120-day reassignment with the State Department CIO.

In the report, Amin said that "cronyism and nepotism" at the department leads to bad contracts being issued and then covered up.

I think the guy is an Idiot. He tries to run the government like a private companies. He wanted to make profits for the government. Most people know that government are not out to make profit. On one of his radio interview he stated “at the same time, we can make a little profit” It shows that he does not know what he’s doing in the government sector. He thinks he is doing a great job by cut cost and making profits for the government. It like sending troops to battle and don’t supplies any bullet so the government can save money and make a little profits at the end.

His decision? You don't leave a role and get reassigned within a government agency and then blast the organization unless you did something wrong. Sounds like someone got what was coming to him, practicing best defense is a good offense. Is he talking about himself with "cronyism and nepotism"?

Nothing new to "cronyism and nepotism" in the State department. My family learned that the hard way 15 years ago and have never seen any signs of improvement with that organization since then. It just seems to be getting worse.
