VA calls halt to buying personal printers

The Veterans Affairs Department is ordering its offices to stop buying personal desktop printers, after an in-house study found the printers were costing more than they were worth, reports AOL Government.

The shift to centralized printers could potentially save VA $150 million over five years.

NMCI only stopped it if you weren't doing any productive work. NMCI tried but found out the true cost of the contract and quickly backed off. Then made it a pain (expensive) to get an IP address.

VA is just now thinking of this? Navy and Marine Corps stopped allowing personal printers with the advent of NMCI ten years ago (2001)!
