I sympathize, but some of us in State government haven't seen a general pay increase in 10 years, and are constantly facing the threat of layoffs, especially with the expiration of ARRA funding. Let's see, feed my kids on less buying power than I've had in memory or feed a fed's kid. Sorry, I have to hear my kids when they want/need something.
