Title: Assistant Administrator for Communications, U.S. Energy Information Administration
Agency: Department of Energy

Map maker. EIA has always collected lots of energy data, but sharing it was another story. Enter Pearson. Under her leadership, EIA launched a 50-layer online map that offers dynamic visual representations of energy infrastructure and resources at every level of government. It proved to be so popular that Pearson created the U.S. Energy Mapping System, a customizable online national map with a wealth of options for exploring the country's energy resources. Pearson also built on existing infrastructure to launch an interactive energy-disruption map that combines real-time weather feeds with EIA map layers to improve decision-making during storms.

Congratulations on a job well done. More work like this is needed to combine current information technology resources with needed business solutions within the federal government.
