Now Git Rockin'
Charlie, who knew? Charles Havekost,
chief information officer at the Department
of Health and Human
Services, grabbed a sizzling red guitar
and got the audience rockin’
with some electrifying riffs to open Federal Computer
Week’s GIT Rockin’ event Oct. 19.
The evening was billed as the first battle of the
government IT bands, but it was all in fun as
friends and colleagues
networked on the dance
floor at the historic State
Theatre in Falls Church,
Va. The band Full Mesh
received the most votes
from the crowd, which
bought voting tickets for $1 each. All proceeds
— about $15,000 — went to the United Service
Organizations of Metropolitan Washington.
