Federal 100 winner: Luke McCormack

Luke McCormack
Chief Information Officer
Homeland Security Department's Immigration and Customs Enforcement

As CIO, McCormack directed a comprehensive IT modernization strategy for ICE and partnered with other DHS components and state and local law enforcement to develop the Law Enforcement Information-Sharing Program ahead of schedule. The DHS secretary set a goal of enabling three successful initiatives in five years. The ICE team exceeded that goal by enabling information sharing in five locations.

McCormack “not only has transformed the ICE Office of the Chief Information Officer into one of the premier IT organizations within Homeland Security, he has also played a transformational role beyond the boundaries of OCIO," said Steven Novak, director of the workforce management division of ICE’s Office of the CIO. "In particular, his leadership in the area of information sharing is ensuring that Homeland Security achieves critical mission goals."
