Federal 100 winner: Bev Godwin

Bev Godwin

Director, USA.gov and Web Best Practices

General Services Administration

USA.gov is the official Web portal of the U.S. government. Introducing social media, including a blog, RSS feeds, e-mail alerts, social bookmarking, and a presence on Facebook and YouTube helped the site better deliver information to the public.

“Bev Godwin brought a high standard of leadership and vision of a government electronically connected with the people,” said Teresa Nasif, director of the Federal Citizen Information Center in the GSA’s Office of Citizen Services and Communications. “She was an early adapter of Web 2.0 and could see that it was a powerful way to deliver government information and services.”
