Federal 100 winner: Dan Green

Dan Green

Data Strategist

Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command

Green was instrumental in implementing the Universal Core (UCore) data exchange system between the Defense Department and other agencies, including the Homeland Security and Justice departments and intelligence agencies. Because of Green and his teammates, those agencies are sharing more vital homeland security information than ever.

To make UCore happen, Green worked with Justice teammate Jeremy Warren to coordinate the efforts of all the participating agencies. Green oversaw more than 20 pilot programs that collectively demonstrated how the semantic-based system could work.

"Dan Green broke through barriers that may have stopped others from being successful in this very important endeavor," said Timothy Traverso, a technical director for the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Communication Networks.
