Federal 100 winner: Donna Roy

Donna Roy

Director of the Enterprise Data Management Office

Homeland Security Department

Roy worked with chief information officers and interagency working groups to get datasets to comply with the National Information Exchange Model so agencies could share them across programs.

The office also started work on developing a comprehensive data asset catalog. In January 2008, then-DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff complimented the department's chief information officer's office on this work, saying, "enterprise data management is an essential ingredient of an effective information-sharing program."

"Roy's strategic leadership has been widely admired by IT and business leaders alike, uniting people around EDMO initiatives," said Vance Hitch, Justice Department CIO.
