Federal 100: John Edgar

John Edgar
Vice president, IT solutions
U.S. Postal Service

Edgar spearheaded two projects that are transforming the way USPS interacts with the mailing industry and public.

The Full Service project offers numerous new options for USPS’ largest customers, including better container tracking, supply chain management and mail verification. Project Phoenix is upgrading the agency’s Web site, with an initial phase that includes support for online chats and mobile access.

"The Full Service capability is a key element of USPS' Intelligent Mail strategy," the service's initiative to coordinate bar codes and other electronic mailing data, said Brad Martin, senior executive of Accenture's health and public service operating group. "John's leadership and focus on the end goal were critical to the successful implementation of the Full Service solution."
