Organization: Army's Product Manager for the Movement Tracking System

Title: Chief of PM-MTS' Fielding and Training Division

Nominated for: As chief of fielding and training for PM-MTS, he managed on-time fielding of more than 3,200 systems to more than 50 active-duty Army, National Guard and Reserve units at more than 36 sites worldwide. He was the driving force in coordinating MTS requirements in support of the war in Afghanistan while simultaneously directing the drawdown of MTS support for Central Command in Iraq.

First IT mentor: A collective group of leaders/mentors that always encouraged me to leverage technology to better accomplish operational objectives, push the envelope of technology to the breaking point and identify its true capabilities/limitations, so technology can continue to be refined to support soldiers and missions. They always encouraged me not to settle for the status quo and to seek smarter ways to accomplish tasks.

Latest accomplishment on the job: Working with our entire team to procure a new computer for our system and all that it involved — testing, training, production schedules and ultimately deploying/fielding it to units in the Army.

Career highlight: Completing nearly 22 years of service in the Army in a variety of high-tempo units and continuing to be associated in a civilian capacity.

Favorite job-related bookmark: I like using Defense Connect Online to collaborate and present briefings. Also, I am beginning to use the [Army's] Single Interface to the Field more often for coordination.

Favorite app: BlackBerry, and I use Google a lot to find info.

Dream non-IT-related job: History teacher.
