Nominated for: Providing technical, contracting and project management support in GSA’s Region 3, where, among other tasks, he has worked with the Army’s Medical Communications for Combat Casualty Care program.

First IT mentor: Randy Matlack, my first IT mentor at GSA, who helped me understand the overall IT framework and structure of the government.

Latest accomplishment on the job: I have used various techniques to streamline and speed up the acquisition process and reduce procurement costs.

Career highlight: I am extremely delighted that some of the projects I have worked on have made a difference to those who are fighting on the front lines for our country.

Your advice for a government IT wannabe: In the government, you are working for the American people. Put effort into learning the government IT structure, and establish a network of mentors and peers to enhance your ability to continually grow your knowledge and expertise.

What you enjoy most about working in government IT: The work is dynamic and challenging. And it is rewarding knowing that you are helping our citizens, armed forces and veterans by providing technologies that make a difference in their daily lives.
