Senator seeks grassroots budget input

Sen. Patty Murray

Sen. Patty Murray

Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) has taken her budget efforts online, as she moves into the chairwoman's seat on the Budget Committee.

The senator launched MyBudget on Jan. 28. It's the committee's new effort to engage the public in the federal budget process.

Her aim is to get the public sharing with her committee their ideas for budget objectives.

"The federal budget is where we lay out our values, our priorities, and our vision for what our government should look like now and in the future," she said. She wants to hear from "families across America" because developing the budget is "too often limited to politicians and bureaucrats."

Murray expects to expand MyBudget with new tools and resources in the coming months.

I worked on military sector as a civilian for last 30 years, we have been hit very hard in last 10 years, our saliers been cut 50%, now we face cow pastures, and all of us a getting older facing age dicremenation as well. It seems sad after getting multiple advance degrees in our areas of expertice, we are treated worst than stray dogs. We have money for everything except for all of us that made our country great powerful, we need some jobs, we are not welfare bums all of us worked hard all of our lives. thanks for caring good luck. Every Doctor takes the same oath to save a life but their interest only lies in how much money that they can make. I beleive that every Doctor should be required by law to see a set amount of Medicare patients because they have earned that right to have the best treatment available. I am very glad that you have opened this up to the public. I applaud you for being a real leader. Thank You and I wish you well!!!!
