    Technology success through the stimulus

    Federal Computer Week will present Karen Jackson, deputy secretary of technology for the Commonwealth of Virginia, at 11 a.m. Wed, Dec. 9, in an eSeminar where she will discuss technology acquisition through the stimulus.

    Since the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act was passed in February 2009, government agencies – including many state agencies – have had challenges accessing those funds. Virginia stands out as a state that has successfully navigated these provisions.

    During the presentation, Ms. Jackson will discuss:

    • Technology opportunities through the stimulus;
    • The process for accessing funding for technology;
    • Examples of technologies that have been procured by the Commonwealth of Virginia;
    • Lessons learned for states and agencies as they navigate federal provisions; and
    • Measures for tracking the progress and success of the stimulus.

    FCW staff writer Alice Lipowicz will moderate the eSeminar.

    Following the presentation, there will be a question-and-answer session. The entire eSeminar will be made available in an online archive.

    All 1105 Government Information Group eSeminars are free of charge.
