Government IT leaders can work hard every day in their pursuit of innovation and still be stuck spinning their wheels in maintaining decades-old technology. While industry partners roll out the next big thing, government leaders too often are playing catch up by deploying technology that has long been standard in the private sector. There are many challenges: competing budget priorities, stove-piped systems and programs, lack of institutional support, and cumbersome acquisitions processes. It’s no wonder it can be so hard for government agencies to realize the benefits of cutting-edge technologies. But with a supportive administration and Congress, and industry eager to support, the time has never been better for government to embrace innovation.

This event explored the possibilities of emerging technologies and help deploy the latest technologies quicker. Our government and industry experts discussed strategies for piloting and implementation, insights on how to harness the advantages of emerging technologies and how to apply them to mission goals to provide agencies with more efficient and effective mission delivery.
