LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

DOD's security track record

In the past 15 years, I've worked 12 years in full-time computer security positions and the remainder doing computer security as a major part of other duties as a civilian Defense Department employee. In response to David K. Wall [Letters, "On DOD security spending," FCW, June 3], all I can say is that he is wrong.

Wrong, that is, about a heated dissenting response, at least from me. Instead, let me just say "Right on!" He couldn't be more honest or more correct in his assessment of DOD's track record in computer security. And it is a crying shame.
