NTIA Gets 757 TIIAP Applications

All 50 states and several U.S. teritories recently submitted applications for the National Telecommunications and Information Agency's (NTIA) Telecommunications Information Infrastructure Assistance Program(TIIAP). All totaled, the TIIAP will distribute $323 million in fundsthis year.

The applicants are collectively putting forth $502 million inprivate-sector matching funds. NTIA has posted at www.ntia.doc.gov/otiahome/tiiap/ a list of applications by state. Officials estimated that it will take four to six months to review applications and make ultimate funding decisions.
