Electric Press Inc. last week announced it had been awarded a General Services Administration schedule contract for the its eFed World Wide Web-based procurement solution. The schedule includes all of the eFed products and services, including licensing, software maintenance, server setup, Internet site hosting, monthly Internet site support, and additional consulting and customization.

Compaq unveils Unix initiatives

Compaq Computer Corp. last week announced the release of a new version of its 64-bit Unix operating system, a new four-processor-capable server and an upgraded clustering tool for Unix servers. Compaq is now offering its Tru64 Unix operating system on the Compaq AlphaServer ES40 server, a four-way RISC-based system that supports four 500 MHz Alpha 2164 processors.
