PC Connection acquires ComTeq Federal

PC Connection Inc., a direct marketer of computers and related equipment, has announced plans to buy ComTeq Federal Inc., which sells computer equipment and services to government agencies.

PC Connection announced the move yesterday but did not disclose the price it is paying for ComTeq, a 6-year-old private company focused on selling high-end computer products, including servers and networking hardware.

ComTeq, a Rockville, Md.-based company, has a General Services Administration contract and holds blanket purchase agreements with several government agencies, including the Navy, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., the National Security Agency and the Internal Revenue Service, PC Connection said in a press release.

Senior managers of the two companies, including Patricia Gallup, chairwoman and chief executive officer of PC Connection, are scheduled to provide more details about the acquisition at a briefing this afternoon.
