Air Force Lt. Gen. Leslie Kenne in June replaced Lt. Gen. Ronald Kadish as the commander of the Electronic Systems Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Kenne, the former director of the Joint Strike Fighter program, is the first woman to be promoted to three-star general in the Air Force.***Grant Thornton LLP last month named Paul Wohlleben as a principal with the company. In addition to the promotion, the company said Wohlleben will take on "a broader leadership role" at its Global Government Group, focusing on government information technology, performance management, and state and local practices. Wohlleben joined Grant Thornton in November 1998 after serving as chief information officer of the General Services Administration's Public Buildings Service.***The Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) has hired Matt Tanielian, former Judiciary Committee counsel to Sen. Robert Torricelli (D-N.J.), as director of government affairs. The council also promoted Brian Adkins to the same position. Both will focus on electronic commerce issues. Tanielian previously worked as chief counsel on business and technology issues for Torricelli. Adkins has been at ITI for the past year and a half as government relations counsel focusing on e-commerce issues.
