Instead of poring over bound technical manuals, technicians fixing equipment or systems aboard the Navy's fleet of aircraft carriers will soon be able to use Extensible Markup Language-based applications to retrieve information online.
Some of the benefits:
Users can tag data, allowing it to be searched and cross-referenced in a more complex, intelligent way.
Users can update manuals in real time instead of changing paper-based documents every time a modification to an existing publication is made.
