Also in the News: GPO to release 'Plum Book'

The Government Printing Office will make "United States Policy And Supporting Positions" available to the public Nov. 12, according to a GPO press release. The book, more commonly known as "The Plum Book," lists more than 8,000 federal civil service leadership and support positions in the executive and legislative branches that may be subject to noncompetitive appointment.

The list, which originated in 1952 during the transition to the Eisenhower administration, is published every four years. It will be available at GPO's bookstore in Washington, through GPO's online bookstore, and at no charge to the public via GPOAccess.
