Federal 100: Keith Trippie

Keith Trippie
Executive Director
Enterprise System Development Office

Homeland Security Department

The work: Transforming DHS from a laggard in deploying cloud solutions to a model for other agencies to follow.

The impact: DHS now has 12 cloud offerings in production or awarded — nine in the agency’s private cloud and three in the public cloud.

The nuts and bolts: Due to Trippie’s efforts, DHS was the first agency to make an award under the General Services Administration’s infrastructure-as-a-service contract, and he continues to work with GSA to ensure that other agencies can capitalize on the contract’s public cloud services. His team also partnered with Citizenship and Immigration Services to develop a tool that enables individuals to access e-Verify to check their eligibility to work in the United States, using identity proofing and credit bureau verification.
