2014 Fed 100

Federal 100: Kevin Deeley

Name: Kevin Deeley
Title: Deputy CIO
Agency: Department of Justice

Security wonk. Deeley had a big year. He filled in as acting CIO at Justice while contributing his expertise to broad efforts to secure federal networks. He was a leader on the Information Security and Identity Management Committee at the CIO Council, which convened CIOs and chief information security officers to develop new policy that was released by the Office of Management and Budget in November. The policy coincided with the launch of a governmentwide cybersecurity contract for continuous diagnostics and mitigation. Fans say Deeley is more than a team player -- he steps up to the plate and delivers in the clutch.
