Federal 100: Linda Hudson

Name: Linda Hudson
Title: CEO
Company: BAE Systems

Selling STEM's importance. Hudson, who retired from BAE on Feb. 1, was the first woman CEO of a major defense contractor. She engineered a shift in strategy from supplying weapons systems to supplying services that support the systems already in place. BAE reshaped its business model and won a number of large services contracts in 2013. Hudson has also been a consistent champion of education in science, technology, engineering and math. STEM workers are one of the nation's "greatest natural resources," Hudson said in recent speech, and a renewable one -- "but only if we choose to renew it."
