2014 Fed 100

Federal 100: David Peters

Name: David Peters
Title: Deputy Director of Mobility and Niche Programs
Agency: General Services Administration

"Family" man. Peters is the main reason federal agencies can now buy wireless services and devices the way most Americans do. Working in the Program Management Division of the Office of Network Services, he drove GSA's development and adoption of "family plans" for federal wireless services and devices. The new programs have allowed GSA to negotiate bulk discounts that all federal agencies can use instead of negotiating sometimes redundant individual contracts that can pump up the cost of mobile services across agencies.
