Chief Information Officer and Senior Agency Official for Cyber Risk Management
U.S. Trade and Development Agency
When it comes to mobile workforces, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) is the government engine that could. Mobility is critical for USTDA’s workers who travel to meet with people in developing countries, places where better technology infrastructure and cyber security are needed. To transform the agency, USTDA has adopted a “management by objective” strategy of developing a fully mobile workforce in which personnel will be equipped to work remotely, share a telework hub, edit documents at an airport or a library – anyplace there is internet access. And rather than try to implement a wholesale IT overhaul, USTDA is undertaking a series of small incremental projects with microdeliverables that are moving the agency closer to its mobility goal.
