For more than a decade, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has led the formulation of the federal health IT strategy and coordination federal health IT policies, standards, programs, and investments with the mission of making electronic health information available when and where it matters most. Dr. Don Rucker, the new National Coordinator, brings three decades of private sector experience. While his work has been focused on clinical care and informatics, he has led efforts to overcome obstacles to drive change forward.
