The impact: Anderson’s pursuit of partnerships with other agencies and the private sector are enabling an integrated, national approach to cybersecurity and information sharing, including secure classified mobile communications.

The nuts and bolts: Anderson’s success lies in his commitment to ensuring that deliverables correspond to user practices and that maturing research is incorporated into operations as quickly as possible. He also helped all NSA directorates adopt NSA Way, a risk management framework based on agile software development. It encourages innovation in products and services while applying robust risk assessments throughout the process.
