The impact: Coleman played a key role in the effort to transition the Veterans Benefits Administration from a paper-intensive claims process to a 21st-century digital environment.
The nuts and bolts: While detailed to the Veterans Affairs Department, Coleman developed enterprise software for handling compensation claims under the Veterans Benefits Management System. He assembled a diverse team of contractors and government engineers and delivered the initial software package in six months.
