The work: Leading critical efforts to implement strategic sourcing and other cost-saving measures governmentwide.
The impact: Under Gordon’s leadership, spending on federal contracting decreased for the first time in more than a dozen years.
The nuts and bolts: As part of the White House Campaign to Cut Waste, Gordon worked with agencies and industry leaders to take advantage of the government’s purchasing power and deliver a better value for taxpayers. He also launched the myth-busters campaign to promote more open communication between government and industry. Through it all, he was a tireless advocate for strengthening and supporting the acquisition workforce.
