Raytheon wins $65M NASA contract

Raytheon Co. will provide information technology services to NASA's Ames Research Center under a potential $65 million contract awarded Thursday

Raytheon Co. will provide information technology services to NASA's Ames Research Center under a potential $65 million contract awarded to the company Thursday.

Raytheon's IT services will support the development, testing, implementation, operation, management and maintenance of information, imaging and communication systems, networks, and facilities, according to a company statement. The contract was awarded under General Services Administration Schedule 70.

NASA's Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, Calif., is NASA's Center of Excellence in Information Technology. Support from Raytheon includes voice, video and data communications, engineering, local network administration, IT security, help desk services and database administration.

Raytheon already provides information systems technology and services, system administration, Web services, airspace management research and development, aerodynamics research, and research in human factors and space science to Ames through the Federal Information Processing Services contract, the Raytheon statement said.
