New procurement leader

Office of Federal Procurement Policy

President Bush on Thursday announced his nomination of Angela Styles to lead the development of federal procurement policy.

Styles will oversee agency acquisition practices as the new administrator of the Office of Management and Budget's Office of Federal Procurement Policy. Her work will include implementing Bush's priorities to increase the use of performance-based contracting and electronic procurement as outlined in the fiscal 2002 budget released Feb. 28. The OFPP administrator also works closely with the federal Procurement Executives Council.

Styles is currently serving as a special assistant to the commissioner of the Public Buildings Service at the General Services Administration and as special assistant to the associate administrator at GSA's Office of Governmentwide Policy. Before coming to government, she was counsel to the government contracts group at Miller & Chevalier, Washington, D.C.
