DOE office awards LAN contract
Soza Inc. wins $10.1 million deal for services related to the migration to a localarea network
The Energy Department's Office of Declassification announced Aug.22 thatit has awarded a $10.1 million contract to Soza Inc. for computer automationsupport services related to the migration from a stand-alone system to alocal-area network.
Soza, an information technology and management consulting firm, willprovide technical, analytical, data entry and administrative services forthe office.
The LAN will be composed of custom and off-the-shelf software toolsin an attempt to improve accuracy, efficiency and timeliness, accordingto contract information available from Federal Sources Inc.
Soza also will provide the personnel, services and special materialsto meet the Office of Declassification's requirements, which include:
* Advanced automation planning, organizational workflow analysis andevaluation of computer technology.
* System/software development, enhancement and maintenance.
* Operation and maintenance of the Computerized Action Tracking Systemused by the office for receiving, processing and sending a large volumeof classified and unclassified information daily.
Soza's other federal customers include the departments of Defense, Agriculture,Housing and Urban Development and Transportation and the National Institutesof Health.
The current award, which is for one base year with four, one-year options,is a follow-up to a previous contract of the same terms that Soza won in1996 and that expired Aug. 20.
