FSS makes acquisition pick official
GSA's Federal Supply Service named Patricia Mead as deputy assistant commissioner for acquisition
Officials at the General Services Administration's Federal Supply Service this month named Patricia Mead as deputy assistant commissioner for acquisition.
Effective Aug. 12, Mead will help oversee procurement and sales on the FSS schedule contracts, including the information technology schedule. The Office of Acquisition, led by assistant commissioner Carolyn Alston, also oversees the development of new schedule vehicles and FSS' online buying site, GSA Advantage.
Mead has been at GSA for 14 years, most recently as assistant commissioner for contract management. She previously worked at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
She has been serving as acting deputy for several months, helping lead the work to bring all schedule vendors onto the revamped GSA Advantage site. Other recent initiatives in her time at the Office of Acquisition include the new excess property auction site and several new telecommunications-related schedules.
