Indus poised to begin Goddard work
NASA awards contract for Web solutions, IT architecture and systems engineering for Goddard's business information systems
Indus Corp. is scheduled to begin work on a business applications and engineering services contract Feb. 1 in support of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center.
The award, made Dec. 19, represents two milestones for Indus, an information technology and Web solutions company based in Vienna, Va.
"This is our first opportunity to work with NASA, and this is our biggest contract," said Tina Collazo, an Indus spokeswoman.
The contract has a two-year base period with one three-year option. It's valued at $55 million during five years.
The company will provide Web solutions, IT architecture, enterprise infrastructure and systems engineering for Goddard's business information systems.
"We're helping them get up to speed with their business infrastructure and with the technologies needed to meet their mission," Collazo said.
Goddard, in Greenbelt, Md., is the nation's largest organization of scientists and engineers studying the Earth, solar system and universe.
Indus was the only awardee, and the company has selected NCI Information Systems Inc., McLean, Va., as its sole subcontractor, according to Collazo.
