Bids sought for $3B Treasury program
As many as 10 individual contracts could be awarded under the Total Information Processing Support Services-3 program.
Internal Revenue Service officials today released a request for proposals for a broadly conceived Total Information Processing Support Services-3 contract. Up to 10 individual contracts could be awarded under the $3 billion program, including at least one to a service-disabled, veteran-owned company, the announcement states.
The contracts, for a period of up to five years, will provide the Treasury Department, its bureaus and other federal agencies a comprehensive program of information technology services. Vendors are needed to provide support services for microcomputer applications to large integrated systems and for virtually all software languages and hardware platforms, according to the IRS notice.
Most of the work under TIPSS-3 will be done in the Washington, D.C., area.
Bids are due by Aug. 18. The IRS will make the awards in 2005, when a similar contract program, TIPSS-2, expires.
IRS officials also announced that the IRS Small Business Program Office will hold a TIPSS-3 Networking Conference from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, in the auditorium of the New Carrollton Federal Building, 5000 Ellin Road, Lanham, Md.
