GSA seeks ideas for charge card program
The agency wants better means of collecting and evaluating SmartPay purchase data as part of the next round of contracts.
The General Services Administration has issued a request for information seeking ideas on a future SmartPay governmentwide charge card services program.
In 2004, the SmartPay program supported more than $24 billion in federal spending. GSA plans to issue a request for proposals for a future program in fiscal 2006 and award contracts in fiscal 2007. The existing contracts will expire Nov. 29, 2008, if all the remaining contract option periods are exercised.
One of the agency's goals is to improve the collection and evaluation of charge card purchase data, said Neal Fox, GSA assistant commissioner for commercial acquisition.
