GSA awards Alliant Small Business contract

The General Services Administration has awarded its Alliant Small Business contract to 72 companies, the agency said Jan. 15.

The spots on the information technology governmentwide acquisition contract (GWAC) went to the same small businesses the agency announced in December, according to a notice on the Federal Business Opportunities Web site. When announced in December, the companies still had to prove their status as government-recognized small businesses.

Alliant Small Business is worth an estimated $15 billion over the five-year base period and the five additional option years, GSA said. The contract is an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract, and the companies will compete for orders placed by agencies.

Mary Powers-King, GSA’s director of GWACs, said on Jan. 14 the companies will start competing for the initial task orders by the end of January.
