DOJ moving forward on disputed contract: report
Department is re-evaluating whether the contractor gave the taxpayers the best value, as advised by GAO.
The Justice Department is going ahead on work on a disputed $844,000 contract for identity management services, while also reevaluating whether the vendor, LS3 Technologies, offered the best value, according to a report in NextGov.
Office of Justice Programs officials apparently are following Government Accountability Office advice on from a Feb. 29 legal opinion to consider canceling the contract unless it can prove that it was awarded after evaluating value.
The GAO upheld a protest of the LS3 contract, and denied DOJ's request to dismiss the protest, in that legal opinion.
