Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) has taken her budget efforts online, as she moves into the chairwoman's seat on the Budget Committee.

The senator launched MyBudget on Jan. 28. It's the committee's new effort to engage the public in the federal budget process.

Her aim is to get the public sharing with her committee their ideas for budget objectives.

"The federal budget is where we lay out our values, our priorities, and our vision for what our government should look like now and in the future," she said. She wants to hear from "families across America" because developing the budget is "too often limited to politicians and bureaucrats."

Murray expects to expand MyBudget with new tools and resources in the coming months.
