CBP inks analytics services contract

The border agency's new contract for business management support services will push new analytics capabilities to managers as well as agents in the field.

Customs and Border Protection awarded a $35 million contract for enterprise business management support services to provide the agency's IT offices with data analytics capabilities that can be used across a variety of mission applications.

The $35.8 million, five-year contract will give its Office of Information and Technology enforcement, trade, and enterprise analytics support services, CBP said in a May 10 statement.

According to the General Services Administration's Federal Procurement Data System, Deloitte Consulting was awarded the contract May 2. CBP 'did not name the vendor in its May 10 announcement.

The contract, according to CBP, will allow agents, officers and higher level strategic decision-makers to generate tailored, actionable data in real time.

"This contract will enable CBP to promote efficiency, effectiveness, drive innovation, and improve governance, compliance, procedures, and operations within the agency," OIT Assistant Commissioner Phillip Landfried said in the CBP statement.
