Beyond PCs, this week's FOSE show will feature information technology ranging from human resources systems to database managers.
PeopleSoft Inc. will demonstrate its Federal HR product, the first of a series of applications the vendor has customized for the federal market. The company started delivering the product last week, according to a PeopleSoft spokesman. The company will be in Booth 3426.
PeopleSoft launched a federal operation last summer.
Banyan Systems Inc.'s FOSE exhibit will include its BeyondMail for DMS secure messaging system. Banyan is targeting the product toward customers of the Defense Department's $500 million Defense Message System contract. The company will be in Booth 214.
Microrim, a subsidiary of Abacus Software Group, will be demonstrating the latest version of its flagship relational database manager, R:BASE 5.5. It features a new graphical user interface and design toolset for building database applications. The company also plans to demonstrate the Internet version of its R:BASE, R:WEB. The company will be in Booth 3130.
In imaging, Motion Pixels will feature its Motion Pixels V2.70 Codec at FOSE. The recently announced product provides full-motion video compression and decompression. Motion Pixels' Codec will play on 486DX2 PCs, accessing video files from a quad-speed or higher CD-ROM drive. Motion Pixels' playback program will run under Microsoft Corp.'s Windows 3.1, Windows for Workgroups 3.11 or Windows 95. The company will be in Booth 2215.
