The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, named Dr. Ming Hsing Rosa Lee its senior/engineer scientist of the year. This award recognizes Lee's decade-long role in managing and developing the simulation software for the Ohio, Los Angeles and new SSN-class of submarines.

Edward "Pete" Aldridge, a former astronaut and chairman of Aerospace Corp., has been elected president of the Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

Lt. Gen. William Odom (ret.), former director of the National Security Agency, joined the board of V-ONE Corp., a Rockville, Md.-based network security company.

Odom served as NSA director from 1985 to 1988. From 1981 to 1985 he served as the Army's assistant chief of staff for intelligence.

Comptek Research Inc. named John Sciuto president, succeeding John Cummings, who retired but will continue to serve as Comptek's chairman. Sciuto will continue as president of the company's Comptek Federal Systems subsidiary.
